Winterizing Your Home October 25, 2010
It’s that time of year to start winterizing your home and to help get you started we came up with a few quick and easy things to start with!
* Remove all garden hoses and splitters (makes the spigot available for two hoses instead of one) from exterior spigots as this may cause pipes to freeze and burst within the walls.
*Remove black flexible hoses from sump pump discharge pipe on the exterior of the home. Attatch hard PVC pipe for winter. Also consider diverting sump line into city sewer for winter months, especially in homes with 8′ basements. Visit your specific city website to obtain a seasonal waiver for sump pump discharge… or the Jordahl website (www.jordahlcustomhomes.com), homeowner forms link under the homeowner links tab.
*Remember to replace your furnace filter on a monthly basis.
*Push straw waddles sitting between the yard and the street into the yard a few feet so snow plows do not catch them during winter months.
*Remember to lock ALL latches on windows to ensure a tight seal.
*Remember to leave floor vents located under windows and patio doors at least partially open and open blinds during the day to reduce moisture build-up (leading to frost formation) on the glass.
*Keep those dehumidifiers going throughout the year!

Women’s Showcase & Open Houses this Weekend October 15, 2010
We are busy this weekend and want everyone to come join us! On Saturday we have an exhibit set up at the Fargo/Moorhead Women’s Showcase, tickets to this event are only $10.00 and is well worth it. Starting at 9am and going until 5pm, there will be tons of entertainment, seminars, exhibits, makeovers, and prizes. Fargo/Moorhead Women’s Showcase October 16th October 12, 2010
This Saturday, October 16th, 9am-5pm is the Fargo/Moorhead Women’s Showcase and is something you shouldn’t miss. There is plenty to do with an entertainment stage, a cooking stage, as well as four seminar stages with seminars on each stage starting every hour from 10am to 3pm. The seminars range from health, home, family, financial, to the community and vary from funny to more serious. If thats not enough to entertain you on a Saturday there will also be over 150 exhibits you can visit (including Jordahl Custom Homes). Fargo School Bells Ring August 25, 2010
Already that time again, I am sure that is what students in Fargo are saying as they board buses and congregate with their friends before class begins on this, the first day of school. Fargo Public Schools begin classes today and the anticipation of a transitioning school year for south side high school students is high on everyone’s minds. With Davies High School slated to open with the 2011-2012 school year, students saw a first hand glimpse into how this will change the high school dynamic last night when the Davies High School football team took the field for the first time. Next year’s senior class are the elders of the team taking the field as juniors this year, a season where the team will be a clear underdog with no senior representation. This won’t hold the players back as they, along with other students looking forward to attending the new Fargo high school next year, are proud to represent the Eagles and become some of the first classes to graduate from the new facility.
Although Fargo Public Schools are reporting numbers to be virtually unchanged from last year, West Fargo is looking at record enrollment. Classes don’t begin begin until August 31st, officials are bustling to realign boundaries allowing for students to be more evenly distributed through the districts facilities. Nearly 500 more students are enrolled in the 2010-2011 school year as compared to this time last year. For this year, the district believes they can make it work, however plans for the future must get underway immediately.
Moorhead Public Schools do not begin classes until Tuesday, September 7th.
